ELECTRIC TRANSPORTATION VISIONARIES

EnVironmental Motors (EVM) is based in Glendale, California and was founded over six years ago by Kent Sokolow, who has consistently been driving electric cars for over eight years (long before it was “the cool thing to do.") Kent is a serious environmentalist like both of his daughters, and they all share a strong unwavering belief in alternative energy geared toward leading-edge transportation technology.

EVM is dedicated to selling a broad selection of environmentally friendly, ultra-high efficiency and 100% Electric automobiles, scooters, personal transporters and all terrain vehicles. Its parent company and family-owned automotive dealership has been recognized for over 54 years, while EVM originated at the start of the millennium selling various alternative transportation vehicles such as the Sparrow, Lee Iacocca’s eBIKE and the Ural Side Car Motorcycle.

EVM is especially excited about the prospects for the future of Electric Vehicles. As a third generation auto dealer, EVM’s Director Taryn Sokolow is thrilled about joining her sister Robyn, her father Kent and grandfather, Lewis Sokolow (1914-1997) in servicing the local community with the environment in mind.

EnVironmental Motors has one of the largest selections of 100% Electric vehicles in all of Southern California. EVM presently stocks ZENN and ZAP, and will soon have a "smart" look-alike called REVOLUTION.  EVM is one of the few dealers in the U.S that specialized in selling the “original European” smart fortwo cars with turbo-charged Mercedes engines that average 55 mpg in city and highway driving.

EnVironmental Motors believes in giving people the best car buying experience they’ve ever had, providing information in the quickest time possible, and always treating its customers with professionalism and respect. EVM wants everyone to feel really good about purchasing an environmentally-friendly vehicle, because they sure feel good selling them!

Taryn Sokolow – Director & Public Relations Liaison
Growing up in the car industry, it was a natural fit for Taryn to join her family’s business in 2006 as an Internet/Fleet Sales Manager. Finding that she wanted to be involved in doing whatever she can to stop global warming and improve upon the environment, Taryn took an interest in EnVironmental Motors. Taryn is also involved in community relations and was invited to join the Rotary Club where she looks forward to getting them more involved with green-related projects. As a graduate of Dominican University in San Rafael, California with a Bachelor in Psychology, Taryn worked in halfway houses for the mentally ill in both Marin County, California and Kauai, Hawaii. She is also athletic and was a “Stroker” on an active outrigger canoe team whose efforts brought home “the gold” for 2005 Kauai State Outrigger Canoe Team Championship. Taryn understands the details about the environment and environmentally-friendly transportation. She’s all about giving back and does that extremely well.

Kent Sokolow - Founder & Owner
Kent has been in the car industry for over 20 years, graduating from GMIT’s Dealership program in Flint, Michigan, and working in his family’s landmark dealership of over 50 years in Glendale, California. Today Kent owns and operates Colonial Honda plus EnVironmental Motors representing five unique lines, which he shares with his daughters Taryn and Robyn. Kent always gives back as many ways as he can, and he is a highly-respected member of the community and all the various clubs/organizations to which he belongs.
