EnVironmental Motors (EVM) is based in Glendale, CA and was founded over 6 years ago by Kent Sokolow, who has been consistently driving electric cars for over 8 years ago (long before it was “the cool thing to do.") Kent, a serious environmentalist like both of his daughters, all share a strong unwavering belief in alternative energy oriented leading-edge transportation technology.
EVM is dedicated to selling a broad selection of EnVironmentally friendly ultra-high efficiency and 100% Electric automobiles, personal transporters and all terrain vehicles. Our family has been an automotive dealer for over 54 years. EVM has been in business since the start of the millennium selling alternative transportation vehicles such as the Sparrow, Lee Iacocca’s eBIKE and the Ural Side Car Motorcycle. EVM is especially excited about the prospects for the future of Electric Vehicles. Taryn Sokolow, the Director of EVM, being a third generation auto dealer is thrilled about joining her sister, Robyn, her father Kent & her grandfather, Lewis Sokolow (1914-1997) in servicing the local community as her family has for so many years.
Today, EnVironmental Motors has one of the largest selections of 100% electric vehicles in Southern California. We presently stock ZAP and Zenn. Additionally, we offer a Smart Car ForTwo Cabrio and Coupe for Studio Rental. They are fully customized original Mercedes engine models from Europe.

The Players
Taryn Sokolow-Director
Growing up in the car industry, it was a natural fit for Taryn to join her family’s business in 2006 as an Internet/Fleet Sales Manager. Finding that she wanted to be involved in doing whatever she can to stop global warming and improve upon the environment, Taryn took an interest in EnVironmental Motors. Taryn is also involved in community relations and was recently invited to join the Rotary Club, and she looks forward to getting them involved with “green” related projects. A graduate of Dominican University in San Rafael, CA with a Bachelor in Psychology, she worked in halfway houses for the mentally ill in both Marin County, CA and Kauai, Hawaii. She used to be a “Stroker” on an active outrigger canoe team whose efforts brought home “the gold” for 2005 Kauai State Outrigger Canoe Team Championship. Taryn knows her stuff about the environment and environmentally-friendly transportation. She’s all about giving back and does that extremely well.
Kent Sokolow-Founder & Owner
Kent has been in the car industry for over 20 years, his family for over 50 years in Glendale, CA. Graduating from GMIT’s Dealership program in Flint, Michigan, Kent began working in his family’s business selling cars. Today Kent owns and operates a Colonial Honda Franchise as well as founding EnVironmental Motors, representing five unique lines and whom he shares with his daughters Taryn and Robyn. Kent always trys to give back in as many ways as he can, and is a respected member of the community and all the clubs/organizations he belongs to including:
